From The Chairman

My Dear Professional Colleagues,

At the outset, season’s greetings to all the members!  I am sure you may be in the midst of the statutory audits and I thought it is appropriate to remind you about the revised Audit Report Format as per SA-700, 705 & 706.

Since, this is a month of examinations I would like to express my best wishes to all IPCC and Final  students who were working very hard for the last few months.  I hope, the guidance provided and the crash course which the Hyderabad Branch has conducted will definitely help the students in getting through the examinations by securing good marks.  I am also sure that the practical knowledge shared by the eminent chartered accountants with the students will help to overcome the fear/deficiencies if any in their examinations.

The President, ICAI and the Chairman, SIRC Visit:

It is a matter of great pride and pleasure to inform you that our beloved President, ICAI, CA. Subodh Kumar Agrawal and the Chairman, SIRC, CA. D. Prasanna Kumar have visited the Hyderabad Branch on 4th May, 2013. It was a wonderful opportunity for the members of SIRC and the Management Committee Members of Hyderabad Branch to have a formal felicitation to the President of ICAI and the Chairman of SIRC of ICAI.

Orientation Programme for Chairmen and Secretaries of Branches of SIRC of ICAI:

Activities of Composition of Sub-Committees:

As you are aware, the Hyderabad Branch of SIRC of ICAI has composed various sub-committees for the year 2013-14.  We have initiated the steps to have the meetings on regular basis and planning to discuss and resolve various issues for the overall betterment of the profession.

CPE Programmes:

I am happy to inform that we have conducted various CPE Programmes in the month of April, 2013. The major topics covered are, Companies Bill 2012, Corporate Governance-Management, Auditing Standards - SA-700, 705 and 706, Appeal Drafting & Proceedings under Income Tax, Domestic Transfer Pricing-Critical Issues, Expert Advisory Committee-on Goodwill & Land Lease and International Taxation-Recent Juruspendence.  All the topics have been covered by eminent speakers.  The Hyderabad Branch is also conducting CPE Programmes in the month of May, 2013 on various important topics and the same is published in this Newsletter.  All the members are requested to avail the benefit of such programmes to get themselves updated for the benefit of their professional activities.

Members:

I am very proud to inform that the Hyderabad Branch of SIRC of ICAI is enjoying a total membership of about 6500 members and is expected to increase drastically in the coming future.  For the benefit of Members, the Branch is conducting ISA PT Classes from 20th April, 2013 to 26th May, 2013 on weekends.  It is also pertinent to inform that a National Seminar on Direct Taxes is scheduled to be held on 18th May, 2013 by the Committee on Direct Taxes of ICAI, hosted by our branch. I request all the members to register for the same and avail the benefit of the seminar.  Branch intends to conduct Certification Courses on Indirect Taxes and Concurrent Audit of Banks. The details are mentioned in the Newsletter.

Students:

It is worth mentioning that more than 15,000 students have been registered through Hyderabad Branch pertaining to CPT, IPCC and Final levels.  For the benefit of CA students, we have successfully conducted crash courses for the IPCC and Final Students during the month of April, 2013 covering the subjects of both the groups with the experienced faculty.  The Mock Tests were also conducted during this period for the assessment of level of the students.  To have first-hand knowledge for CPT students, a Crash Course is scheduled from 11th May, 2013 to 21st May, 2013 covering all the subjects. The Branch is also planning to conduct the long-term coaching classes for the benefit of CPT, IPCC and Final Students for November/December 2013 exams.  To get rid-off the fear of examinations among the students, the Branch has conducted a programme on “How to Face CA Exams” and the response for the same was very good.  The students have expressed their satisfaction and looking forward to have such programmes in future.

As a part of the service to the students, the Hyderabad Branch has submitted a representation to APSRTC for the issuance of concessional bus pass facility and expecting a favourable consideration from APSRTC authorities.

As the Registration for the ITT course has crossed the figure of 5000 students, we are planning to start additional two ITT Labs to enable the students to complete the ITT course on time.  With the introduction of Advanced ITT Course, we need to have more Labs for meeting the additional requirements. With regard to GMCS-1, we are planning to have more infrastructure facilities for the timely completion of the same.

CA Day Celebrations of this year will be held on 1st July, 2013 and for which we are planning to have various activities for the members and students, such as sports, cultural activities, blood donation camps, social services, etc. I request all the members (family members/students) to take active part in all these activities with a lot of zeal and enthusiasm.

Social Responsibility:

As a part of our social responsibility, we all should work for conservation of ground water resources for the better future. In order to achieve the same, I request all the members to encourage for erection of rain water/waste water harvesting pits for maintaining the ground water levels to meet the present day requirements as well as for future generations. In addition to the above we are also planning to organise tree plantation programme by our members/students for maintenance of eco balance for safe/better environment.

Feedback and Suggestions:

I request all the members and students to send their valuable inputs and suggestions to us for improving the services for the benefit of members and students to the e-mail id hyderabad@icai.org.  We assure that every useful suggestion will be considered and implemented.

Your's sincerely,

CA. Tirupathaiah Yarra
