My Dear Professional Colleagues,
At the outset, season’s
greetings to all the members! I am sure
you may be in the midst of the statutory audits and I thought it is appropriate
to remind you about the revised Audit Report Format as per SA-700, 705 &
706.
Since, this is a month of
examinations I would like to express my best wishes to all IPCC and Final students who were working very hard for the
last few months. I hope, the guidance
provided and the crash course which the Hyderabad Branch has conducted will
definitely help the students in getting through the examinations by securing
good marks. I am also sure that the practical
knowledge shared by the eminent chartered accountants with the students will
help to overcome the fear/deficiencies if any in their examinations.
The
President, ICAI and the Chairman, SIRC Visit:
It is a matter of great
pride and pleasure to inform you that our beloved President, ICAI, CA. Subodh
Kumar Agrawal and the Chairman, SIRC, CA. D. Prasanna Kumar have visited the Hyderabad Branch on 4th
May, 2013. It was a wonderful opportunity for the members of SIRC and the Management
Committee Members of Hyderabad Branch to have a formal felicitation to the
President of ICAI and the Chairman of SIRC of ICAI.
Orientation
Programme for Chairmen and Secretaries of Branches of SIRC of ICAI:
Orientation Programme for
Chairmen and Secretaries of Branches of SIRC of ICAI was held at Vishakhapatnam
from 17th to 19th April, 2013. I take this opportunity to express my sincere
thanks to the SIRC Chairman for organising such an interactive programme. It was a great occasion to all the chairmen
for exchanging their views, difficulties and suggestions for improving the
functions of the branch.
Activities
of Composition of Sub-Committees:
As you are aware, the
Hyderabad Branch of SIRC of ICAI has composed various sub-committees for the
year 2013-14. We have initiated the
steps to have the meetings on regular basis and planning to discuss and resolve
various issues for the overall betterment of the profession.
CPE
Programmes:
I am happy to inform that
we have conducted various CPE Programmes in the month of April, 2013. The major
topics covered are, Companies Bill 2012, Corporate Governance-Management, Auditing
Standards - SA-700, 705 and 706, Appeal Drafting & Proceedings under Income
Tax, Domestic Transfer Pricing-Critical Issues, Expert Advisory Committee-on
Goodwill & Land Lease and International Taxation-Recent Juruspendence. All the topics have been covered by eminent
speakers. The Hyderabad Branch is also
conducting CPE Programmes in the month of May, 2013 on various important topics
and the same is published in this Newsletter.
All the members are requested to avail the benefit of such programmes to
get themselves updated for the benefit of their professional activities.
Members:
I am very proud to inform
that the Hyderabad Branch of SIRC of ICAI is enjoying a total membership of about
6500 members and is expected to increase drastically in the coming future. For the benefit of Members, the Branch is
conducting ISA PT Classes from 20th April, 2013 to 26th
May, 2013 on weekends. It is also
pertinent to inform that a National Seminar on Direct Taxes is scheduled to be
held on 18th May, 2013 by the Committee on Direct Taxes of ICAI,
hosted by our branch. I request all the members to register for the same and
avail the benefit of the seminar. Branch
intends to conduct Certification Courses on Indirect Taxes and Concurrent Audit
of Banks. The details are mentioned in the Newsletter.
Students:
It is worth mentioning that
more than 15,000 students have been registered through Hyderabad Branch
pertaining to CPT, IPCC and Final levels.
For the benefit of CA students, we have successfully conducted crash
courses for the IPCC and Final Students during the month of April, 2013
covering the subjects of both the groups with the experienced faculty. The Mock Tests were also conducted during
this period for the assessment of level of the students. To have first-hand knowledge for CPT students,
a Crash Course is scheduled from 11th May, 2013 to 21st
May, 2013 covering all the subjects. The Branch is also planning to conduct the
long-term coaching classes for the benefit of CPT, IPCC and Final Students for
November/December 2013 exams. To get
rid-off the fear of examinations among the students, the Branch has conducted a
programme on “How to Face CA Exams” and the response for the same was very
good. The students have expressed their
satisfaction and looking forward to have such programmes in future.
As a part of the service to
the students, the Hyderabad Branch has submitted a representation to APSRTC for
the issuance of concessional bus pass facility and expecting a favourable
consideration from APSRTC authorities.
As the Registration for the
ITT course has crossed the figure of 5000 students, we are planning to start
additional two ITT Labs to enable the students to complete the ITT course on
time. With the introduction of Advanced
ITT Course, we need to have more Labs for meeting the additional requirements. With
regard to GMCS-1, we are planning to have more infrastructure facilities for
the timely completion of the same.
CA Day Celebrations of this
year will be held on 1st July, 2013 and for which we are planning to
have various activities for the members and students, such as sports, cultural
activities, blood donation camps, social services, etc. I request all the
members (family members/students) to take active part in all these activities
with a lot of zeal and enthusiasm.
Social
Responsibility:
As a part of our social
responsibility, we all should work for conservation of ground water resources
for the better future. In order to achieve the same, I request all the members
to encourage for erection of rain water/waste water harvesting pits for
maintaining the ground water levels to meet the present day requirements as
well as for future generations. In addition to the above we are also planning
to organise tree plantation programme by our members/students for maintenance
of eco balance for safe/better environment.
